We had another Advent 20/20 meeting on Sunday, 23 August, directly following the service. We met to discuss the current and future happenings in the life of our church. To download the conversation, click here.
The Church of the Advent will meet for worship and the Eucharist this Sunday at 5:00 pm at Casa del Pueblo (1459 Columbia Road, NW). Please come pray for our service, our church, our neighborhood and our city before worship in the theater at 4:30.
Due to the Advent 20/20 meeting this week, we will not have a picnic at Meridian Hill Park. We will, however have a potluck so please bring something to share!
September 13th is the day when we will induct all new members and formally welcome members of the Church of the Resurrection who are transferring their memberships to Advent. This will be a day of celebration and feasting. If you are interested in becoming a member, start by attending a Newcomers’ Dinner.

The Newcomers’ Dinner is a great chance to enjoy a meal with others who are exploring the Church of the Advent and is part of the membership process. This is the first Newcomers’ Dinner hosted by Advent and it is an opportunity to get to know Tommy and Laura and other members of the church, while hearing about the history & vision of Advent. The Essentials membership will be offered on Wednesday nights at 7pm at the Hinson House starting July 22nd through August 12th.
