The Church of the Advent will meet for worship and the Eucharist this Sunday at 5:00 pm at Casa del Pueblo (1459 Columbia Road, NW). Please come pray for our service, our church, our neighborhood and our city before worship in the theater at 4:30. Due to the Advent 20/20 meeting this week, we will not have a picnic at Meridian Hill Park. We will, however have a potluck so please bring something to share!

September 13th is the day when we will induct all new members and formally welcome members of the Church of the Resurrection who are transferring their memberships to Advent. This will be a day of celebration and feasting. If you are interested in becoming a member, start by attending a Newcomers’ Dinner.

We will be having another Advent 20/20 meeting Sunday, August 23rd directly following the service. We will meet for exactly one hour to discuss the current and future happenings in the life of our church.

Join us for a multi-church gathering to hear two international updates from Europe and Rwanda. The Rev. Christian Hofreiter, who served on the pastoral team at Resurrection 2005-07, will give an update on his Oxford studies and opportunities for ministry in Austria.
